We have a missing Trophy! This much celebrated and sought after trophy which is actually older than the Hummer Trophy, won by many of our most celebrated, most anxious to get on the water, nutty skippers, who have failed to even let ice get in the way of thier quest. has somehow "dissappeared".
The Trpphy is presented to the boat that is the first SLSC boat to cross the lake in the spring each year, from the marina to the sandcliffs. In the annals of the SLSC, it is the first time an actual Protest was lodged. After an entire summer debbating & discussing, the protest was heard at the AGM in the flall. It was Jewll vs Fisher & by popular vote, they were awarded a "tie". (Just shows you how much our club has moved forward!)
If you would take a look in your tropy cabinet & see a trophy, a wooden base, a bronze sail, and a couple plastic ice cubes, please give Chris Watson a call (348-0054) and let him know you will bring it to the Spring Meeting.
